Hey everybody! The name's Matt and I am a single
gay 21 yr. old male. I was a junior at WVU in Morgantown, WV prior
to being locked up. Hard times are exactly that, hard times.
We live in a world of chaos where words like "NOT GUILTY" and
"INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY" are meaningless. I have
struggled since 01-14-2005 with problems in the legal world & I hope to
have people understand the real me through my experiences. I came
into jail with 13 separate charges; 3 felonies & 10 misdemeanors.
I was found guilty by a prejudiced jury for one count of malicious
wounding on a woman by the name of Linda Sue Carmody. While I lay
asleep in my dorm bedroom with a man I had a crush on, some 15 miles
away, someone was attacking Linda. She calls 9-1-1 and tells them
she doesn't know who stabbed her & that it was too dark to tell.
Eight months later, her story changed only to include my name. My
then "best-friend" Laura Master/ ex-boyfriend, Ethan Butcher/ alibi &
crush Rick Riggleman/ & 2 ex "friends", Jessica Garrett & Kyle
Tennant--all made up elaborate stories depicting me and alleged
confessions. While testifying against me, they smiled & wouldn't
even look me in the eye. I lost, and was sentenced to 2-10 yrs.
I see the parole board in May 2007. Wish me luck. I have
been to 3 different facilities in 17 months. Everywhere but where
I need to be; FREE! However, I am very fortunate to have a
loving Best Friend that believes in my innocence & allows me to believe
my life does have meaning. I dedicate the triumph over my
struggles to her and the love that she has so blessedly bestowed upon
me. You are my Best Friend--my soul-mate. I LOVE YOU.
