In this desolate
world of mine, through trails and tests I've failed, tormented by the
pains of loneliness, deafly piercing my heart like fiery darts from
hell. In burning agony I struggle, with my own life's defeat, the weight
of the world magnified in my eye's, as I stare at cast iron shackles on
my feet. Held motionless in this bondage, in a world I can't claim,
captured by gray sorrow, drowned in enough tears to water rain. Beyond
even the sky I search to find some relief, from this grief, which
screams like gritting teeth. A calm, a soothe, a ride so smooth, what
manner of man am I? I've tried this, I've tried that, only to come right
back, so I decided to give you a try. I'm searching for the sweet breath
of happiness, that I know comes only from your lips. As I fall from
grace you can rescue me, with the security of your friendship. I seek a
life that has shared my story, but has risen to glory, a shoulder upon
which I can lean. An encouraging voice in my ear, to calm all my fears,
one who'll let me wipe the slate of my life clean. I have endless gifts
to offer, a shell still yet to be broken. My desire is that I have
tickled the curiosity of your ears, through these heartfelt words I've
spoken. So if it is you who can't now look away, if it's me for whom
you've heard yourself pray, I ask for a moment, or even just a
while, please be my friend, be my hope, and make me smile.
