My name is Donnie
Hatcher, but most simply remember me as Don. The present
glorification of a lifestyle that has cost me the past 5 years of my
life: is both confusing and amazing to me. My current everyday
existence has to be the closest thing to hell on earth.
Yet, so many young people answer the call of the streets and throw
caution to the wind with the consequences being what I now face or
worse. In pursuit of the lifestyle commonly referred to as
"Balling", I've made choices that have had a devastating effect on many
lives, not excluding those of my loved ones and myself.
If I could do things over there's much I would
change. But, there's another chance I have. For those who
have options to travel another, more positive path, I sincerely
hope they make that choice.
The
cars, jewelry, women, & good times have all became a distant faded
memory. I would gladly give them all back for a chance to play with my
children and be a parent in the true sense. I hope my predicament
serves as a difference to all aspiring hustlers by reminding them that
notoriety comes with a hefty price tag.
