Message From inmate Ker'Sean O Ramey # 999-519

     Hello. My name is Ker' Sean Ramey and I'm currently on Texas Death Row.  I'm 24 yrs. Young ( smile) ; born June 4 1985. That makes me a very creative Gemini and I try and express my creative side by things I read and the poems that I write- when my spirit compels me. By nature I'm a very positive individual. This despite there being a lot of negativity and hatred here. I try and stay away from it cause I feel that if I fed into it, I would only attract that negativity and hatred to myself. Thus, I stay drama free. No matter what. I try and focus my time, energy and attention towards positively. I believe that by doing this I will only bring more of that positive energy into my life. I read to keep- my mind sharp, right and on point. Gaining only that knowledge which I feel will help me in life. Books that I mainly read to help me achieve this are psychology, philosophy, self- help books, and spiritual and I also read books on leadership.
When I write poems, a whole another world opens up for me. This allows me to escape momentarily the hell that I currently find myself in. I get lost in this world. I get inside. I have a lot of things on my mind and the written words is my outlet in which I can unburden my mind and set my thoughts down on paper. This allows me to open up. I'm a strong person but I feel that if I hold my thoughts and feelings in... It just bring me down. Possibly even break my mind and hinder my elevation and growth in all things positive.
Here is a poem I wrote. Please feel free to comment on it and let me know what you think. I'd be very interested in hearing from you.

                                               " Feelings "
How does it feel to be isolated and deprived of life's bare essentials?
Enduring pain that exceeds emotions, an is far beyond mental.
To most, these feelings are exotic and may never be comprehended.
Sometimes I attempt to evade them, but I'm always apprehended.
While confined to this cage, the psychological stability is tested.
Will I pass? or will I fail? will I succumb? or will I prevail?
One can not say only time will tell.
Some do not realize this is not a novel or a book.
Nor a song with a hook.
The feelings I entertain are REAL,  and so is the concrete and steel.
Though the emotions are abstract, and the pain is on the inside.
My tears are tangled, as they slide slowly down the left side.
I refuse to believe this is an illusion and my situation is not real.
But what I don't refuse, is to open up and let you know precisely how I feel.
